“When looking at our IT contract and equipment requirements we did not expect to move from our long term supplier. As we had not put this service out tender for some considerable time we thought it would be a worthwhile exercise. As we build our business on repeat and referral business we had been recommended to invite Indigo by one of our long term customers. Indigo demonstrated an economical package that included the appropriate service that we would require at a price that was competitive. Within the package we decided for a complete technology refresh as out IT equipment was overdue for replacement.
A concern for us was that when changing out all the equipment that it would not impact our day to day running of our business. We suggested that if the equipment could be changed during a normal quoted time for our business between Christmas and New Year where we would only have a skeleton staff in. Indigo agreed to do this as part of their service at no extra cost. I was amazed that when they went a step further and volunteered to come in and do the change when everyone on holiday on the 27th and 28th of December.
This particular measure to go the extra mile confirmed to us that we had made the right decision in choosing our nee IT provider. The Partners were unhappy about the service we received from our previous IT provider and when I joined the practice one of my tasks was to look into a new IT service provider. We had a small tender process involving 4 IT companies. Throughout that process Indigo were very knowledgeable, and proposed a very cost effective solution for us. Our previous IT provider did also provide a proposal but they were much more expensive and the trust was already gone in that relationship to consider using them again, so we thought it was time to try another provider. When Indigo came in to review our system to enable them to provide a proposal, it was noted that our existing servers were in desperate need of upgrading and had the potential to stop working at anytime. Indigo were very aware of this and went out of their way to install a quick solution to stabilise our environment as quickly as possible. Throughout the project, they kept in daily contact to advise on the progress behind the scenes, all work was carried out out-with business hours, including coming in on a Sunday evening/night to migrate our emails over to Outlook 365 to ensure there was minimal disruption on the Monday morning when staff returned to work.
As expected in all IT upgrades there will be some ‘glitches’ but the engineers were quickly on site and rectified any issues as soon as possible. We have found all the staff at Indigo are extremely pleasant and when engineers are on site they talk in ‘layman terms’ to the staff to ensure they understand what they are doing.
We have also introduced an RDS environment which we have rolled out to enable Partners & some fee earners easy remote access from anywhere to our systems. This included one Fee Earner being able to seamlessly work on a transaction while in Portugal this summer. I cannot fault the team’s enthusiasm to find a resolution to small problems that arise.

I know that the project didn’t proceed as efficiently as we had hoped, but delighted we have got there with the limitations of our software. In particular, I would like to praise Jon Pallant for his knowledge and expertise in resolving the many challenges we encountered, liaising with Sidexis and Orthotrac and sorting out the challenges with NHS emails etc.
Very pleased we now have a much faster system, with reliable backups and the peace of mind that the system can be rebuilt without major downtime.
